Wurth Electronics Midcom has been included in Maxim / Teridian Semiconductor's newly released reference design for smart metering integrated circuits (ICs). The new product family features digitally isolated current sensors based on the company's isolation technology. The new 71M6541x, as a stand-alone meter system-on-chip (SoC) for single element meters, offers significantly reduced power consumption and enhanced accuracy.
Maxim / Teridian's products are used in smart utility meters, as well as enterprise based solutions such as servers, power distribution units and outlet monitoring devices to measure power dissipation with high accuracy, and enable communication processing of recorded energy data.
